Online PDF editor FAQ
Clear answers about changing PDF text, supported files, privacy and the current editor's capabilities.
Can I edit existing text in a PDF?+
Yes, when the PDF contains detectable digital text. Open the file, select Edit and click the positioned text fragment you want to replace.
Is EasyPDFEdit free?+
The current editor requires no account, adds no watermark and has no daily task quota. It includes a 100 MB safety limit, and practical performance depends on your device and browser memory.
Does EasyPDFEdit upload or store my document?+
No. In the current version, the PDF is read, rendered, edited and exported in your browser. It is not uploaded to EasyPDFEdit for editing or storage.
Can I edit text in a scanned PDF?+
A scan is an image of text rather than digital text. You can add text, highlight, whiteout and draw on it, but changing the words inside the image requires OCR. OCR is planned but not currently included.
Can I change the font, size and color?+
Yes. The editor provides Helvetica, Times New Roman and Courier options, text size controls, bold, italic and custom color.
Does whiteout permanently remove confidential content?+
No. Whiteout places a visible white area over content. It is not secure redaction and must not be used to remove sensitive information from a PDF.
Why can some text not be selected?+
The page may be a scan, the text may have been converted to outlines, the content may be rotated or the file may use an unusual embedded font or structure. Protected PDFs may also restrict editing.
Does it work on mobile?+
The interface adapts to mobile browsers, but precise existing-text selection is generally easier on a laptop or desktop with a larger screen.
Will the original PDF be overwritten?+
No. The editor downloads a new file with “-edited” in the filename and leaves the original document on your device unchanged.
Can I undo a change?+
Yes. Use the Undo and Redo buttons or standard keyboard shortcuts while editing.
